Vets League Match 3
Thursday 18th June at Tilsley Park was sunny and warm and, although a smaller team than previous matches, our WHH athletes still set PBs, new Club Records, and broke existing records.
Congratulations to our men – Simon Leech who PB’d his Long Jump improving by 1cm from previous distance set in 2019. Paul Wileman competed in Long Jump, High Jump and 2000m Walk – where he set a PB and new Club Record for the distance in M35.
Our ladies were also on form – Kathryn Leech claimed a new Club Record in W60 Hammer. Ros Burgess also set a new Club Record in W60 2000m Walk. And the unstoppable Clare Hazell improved on her existing W55 1500m Club Record, taking almost 13sec off her time set in April this year. Congratulations to all!
Our thanks, as always, to Gareth Smith and Richard Jegou for officiating on the Field – they were kept busy on High Jump, Men’s Hammer and Men’s Shot Put.
Check our Facebook Page and WhatsApp Athletics group for details of the final match to be held in Reading’s Palmer Park on Sunday 5th July with events from 13:30 – 16:30. We look forward to seeing you then!
