Oxfordshire XC League 2018/19

An Exciting XC Season

A great turnout at Henley, the fifth and final cross-country fixture helped us close a fabulous XC season for the Harriers

We’ve had over 100 Harriers compete in the XC league, including more than 40 juniors. That’s a fantastic turnout from a small club and there’s no doubt that the huge participation and team atmosphere helped us achieve some great results.

Women’s Team

Congratulations to the Women’s team have had another astonishing season. After being promoted for this season, they have won Division 2 convincingly and will see another promotion to compete in Division 1 next season.

A special mention for Lucy Rycroft who achieved 2nd place in the U20 Women for the season.

A telling statistic for the team’s strength and depth is that although the first 3 Harriers across the line become the ‘A’ team, A total of 14 different ladies scored for either the ‘A’ or ‘B’ teams this season. Congratulations on a fantastic team effort!

Men’s Team

The men’s team had a difficult start to the season missing several of our speedier runners through injury, etc. and our position in Division 1 was looking tenuous. However, the team have pulled together, and strong turnouts from the mid-table Harriers meant we didn’t drop points and had a great platform when the speedier runners could compete later in the season.

Thanks to an impressive turnout for the last race, we secured our position for next season in Division 1, finishing the season in 8th position, above the 9th & 10th relegation places.

The men achieved 4th team at Henley, hinting at what’s possible next season!
