Welcome to White Horse Harriers

Coaching

We’re lucky enough to have a number of experienced and talented England Athletics (EA) qualified coaches who provide coaching structure and help Harriers realise their potential.

Importantly, we’ve also had newer Harriers undertake coaching courses to become qualified and join the team, bringing numbers, enthusiasm and new ideas.

Coaching Rota

To keep our coaches fresh and sharing ideas, we run a rota and ask them to coach approx twice a month.  To maintain this rota, and ensure athletes get the support they need, we always need a number of coaches, assistant, leaders as well as parent volunteers.

Various people are interested in different areas, and we have coaches supporting the following groups:

  • Seniors
  • Juniors (Teenagers)
  • Juniors (Sportshall/Quad Kids)
  • Beginners / Couch to 5k

New Coaches & Getting Qualified

Naturally, we actively welcome athletes, parents, and existing coaches who’d like to get involved.

If you are interested, you can simply start with either the Coaching Assistant or Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF).  Both are two day EA courses that provides the theory, enables you to get get involved and provides a recognized EA qualification.

The club is willing to support and pay for any Harriers interested in taking the EA course/qualification and getting involved.  Details of the courses here

Please contact any of Simon Leech if you’re interested and would like to know more
