This beautiful route starts near The Rose Revived pub at Newbridge. It follows the Thames Path downstream, past Northmoor Lock before heading northwest across a meadow to a farm track which takes you to Northmoor. You then turn left onto the tarmac road (a small traffic-free path runs parallel to the road) and go through the village. Just after The Red Lion you go left over a stile and head mostly south (crossing 4 more stiles and some little bridges) before you pick up the main path back to the Thames and then retrace your steps to the start. There are lots of gates on this route, as well as the 5 stiles. If you include The Maybush pub at Newbridge you have 3 good options for refreshments.
After prolonged rain the Thames can flood and leave lots of mud and standing water on the banks and meadows, which are best avoided.
