Route 27 – Dorchester Shillingford – Clumps (11km, 125m)

Starting in the middle of Dorchester you follow footpaths south to the confluence of the Thames and the Thame and then follow the Thames Path downstream to Shillingford Bridge. Cross this bridge and then run northwest through farmland to Little Wittenham Wood. Ascend to the Clumps through the wood and then descend to the church at Little Wittenham. You cross back over the Thames using the footbridge at Day’s Lock and then follow footpaths back to the start.

You can get refreshments at The Wandering Kitchen (Wet n Wild watersports centre at Berinsfield), The Snug (Bishop’s Court Farm at Dorchester) or in one of the 3 pubs in the village as well as the part-time café in the abbey.
