Biography

I think having joined White Horse Harriers in 1998 – I’m one of the long time members…

I love to run, and have run many road marathons as well as shorter distances, securing many club records, from 5km to the marathon distance.

I hold ‘Coach in Running Fitness’ qualification, and with the help of a group of talented Run Leaders, I run the JogWantage beginners running course – zero to 5k – each Spring.

My aim is to share my enjoyment of running with others and to encourage and help others achieve their running dreams. It is inspiring to see people, who previously thought they couldn’t run, succeed in running their first 5k and even continuing on to run marathons.

Whichever way I run from my home is uphill, but it is worth the climb up to the Ridgeway. Once up there, the views are amazing and there are plenty of options to vary the route. Maybe that is why my favourite race has been Snowdon Marathon, it is a bit like home but on a bigger scale.

My goal for this year is to get fit again and run at least some of the club championship races!
