Welcome to White Horse Harriers

Route 32 – Longworth – Tenfoot Bridge (11km, 40m)

This mixed-terrain route also starts outside the village hall in Longworth. It heads west on a tarmac road doing dog-legs around the church and manor house, onto a lane that takes you into Hinton Waldrist. Opposite the church turn right and follow the tarmac road downhill to Duxford Farm. The trail then continues as a farm track which kinks right, left and right, taking you to the aptly named Tenfoot Bridge over the river onto the Thames Path.

Follow this downstream to Shifford Lock and recross the river and a small tributary staying on the Thames Path trail. Just after the tall curved footbridge at the lock, head due east across the meadow and take the twisting, permissive farm track back to the outskirts of Hinton Waldrist. At the end of this farm track turn left into the lane and retrace your steps to the start.

After prolonged rain the Thames can flood and leave lots of mud and standing water on the banks and meadows, which are best avoided.
