This mixed-terrain route starts outside the village hall in Longworth. It heads west on a tarmac road doing dog-legs around the church and manor house, onto a lane that takes you into Hinton Waldrist. Opposite the church turn left, run through the village and take the next road right, following this for about 500m (mind the traffic). A track opens up as the road bears left and this will take you southwest all the way to the A420 at Pusey Furze (this is a very busy road!).
Run on the verge for ~200m and then take the next footpath on the right. After about 800m you will come to a very wide permissive trail which runs north, past Rectory Farm, to a trail running east, which kinks right and left, bringing you to Duxford Farm. Follow the tarmac road back to Hinton Waldrist and at the church retrace your steps to Longworth.
After prolonged rain the Thames can flood and leave lots of mud and standing water on the banks and meadows, which are best avoided.
