White Horse Half Marathon

The 2026 White Horse Half Marathon took place on
Sunday 29th March.

The race is run on a level and attractive rural course through the country villages of the Vale of the White Horse. Starting from Grove the course follows quiet country lanes through the villages of Denchworth, Lyford and Charney Bassett. The race is chip timed. The format and course of the race has been unchanged in recent years – and remains much the same for 2026. The White Horse Half Marathon was voted one of the top 10 races for PB potential on the Runners World website.

The race starts and finishes at Grove, near Wantage, Oxfordshire, UK. Full details of the the location of the race HQ, parking etc. will be sent to entrants nearer race day. The race starts at 09:30.

Refund Policy

We (White Horse Harriers Athletics Club) reserve the right to cancel, delay, modify or postpone the White Horse Half Marathon due to circumstances outside our reasonable control. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, adverse weather, health and safety risks, withdrawal of the race permit or instructions or guidance from the emergency services, central or local government. In such circumstances we reserve the right to retain all or part of registration fees. We would endeavour to inform entrants as quickly as possible of any such changes.

Transfers

We do not issue refunds to entrants who are no longer able to make the event. If we reach full capacity, we will consider requests to transfer your entry to another runner. We cannot cannot do transfers within two weeks of the race. 

Volunteers

We are always looking for lots of volunteers to help with marshalling and other duties at this race. No experience necessary. All offers of help are gratefully accepted.

Light English Spritz for our spot prizes.  Jimmy imports the excellent Bavarian beer from the Hofbrauhaus Traunstein (Hofbrauhaus Traunstein). The beer can be bought by the case direct from Jimmy. It is also available on draught in several local pubs, including the Plough at Hanney, the Fox and Hounds at Uffington and the Old Crown in Faringdon.

Hendred Vineyard (Hendred Vineyard) for donating bottles of their locally grown crisp, dry, sparkling Hendred Brut.
