2008 – Richard Jégou, who was competing at the annual Midland Masters Throws Fest held at the Northwood Stadium in Stoke on Saturday, launched the 28lb Shot Putt to a new British record distance of 6.87 metres in his category. In this discipline Richard outperformed all the other competitors in the equivalent categories.
Richard also managed to achieve a Midland Masters record in the Greek Discus throwing to a distance of 20.51 metres. Again he outthrew all the other competitors in the equivalent categories in this discipline.
In addition to these record–breaking throws Richard went on to produce solid performances in four further disciplines; namely the One–Handed Hammer (20.61 metres), Heavy Weight Tri–athlon (41.66 metres), Kugel–Schocken (17.57 metres) and Hammer (29.98 metres).
